Drug Description

Imovane is a medicine for the treatment of insomnia, depression or other mental diseases. This is short-term sleeping drug which must not be used for more than 7 days.


Imovane is intended for the oral use and available in the following dosages: 3.75 mg, 5 mg and 7.5 mg. Stick to the prescribed dosage to avoid any undesirable consequences such as serious side effects and drug addiction. A single dose must be taken just before sleep, as is starts to act very fast.
The Zopiclone medication must not be used for more than a week and is intended only for the short-term use. You should take Imovane only if you have 7-8 hours for sleep.
The medicine must be withdrawn gradually to prevent the withdrawal syndrome. People suffering from alcohol or drug addiction and suicidal tendencies must be under the medical supervision during the treatment.


The drug may causes short-term memory impairment during the treatment. People usually fall asleep during this period. Pregnant and lactating women must not consume Imovane. Kids and teenagers under the age of 18 and older people must not use this medicine.
Don’t change the dosage without consulting your doctor. You should to avoid consuming alcohol or taking CNS depressants during the treatment with Imovane. It is desirable to refrain from driving or operating any dangerous machinery until you’re completely alert.
If you noted any strange thoughts or mood swings, consult your physician immediately. Avoid the drug addiction and withdrawal symptoms by following the doctor’s recommendations about gradually reducing the dosage before stopping the treatment.

Adverse effects

Imovane can be prescribed only if (according to the doctor) the benefits of the drug surpass the possible risks. This drug usually has a long list of adverse effects:

  • memory loss,
  • sleepiness,
  • breathing problems,
  • chest pain,
  • skin rash,
  • mood swings,
  • instability,
  • anxiety,
  • mood swings,
  • confusion.

Avoid mixing Imovane with alcohol, as it may cause suicidal tendencies, hallucination, depression and other mental disorders.


Imovane is contraindicated for use in patient with allergy to Zopiclone. Patients with such disorders as liver dysfunction, breathing difficulty, myasthenia gravis, kidney failure, any mental disorders and a history of alcohol or drug addiction must inform the doctor before taking this medicine in order to prevent any undesirable consequences.
