Nolvadex is a drug used for the treatment of mammary gland cancer. It is used a part of therapy of Ductal carcinoma in situ. This drug impedes the increase of tumors caused by estrogen in the body.

Nolvadex belongs to the group of drugs widely known as anti-estrogens. Therefore, Nolvadex acts by suppressing the formation and effects of estrogen in some tumors. In its turn, it allows impeding the increase of tumors caused by estrogen.

Nolvadex is usually used for the treatment of patients with mammal gland cancer. Besides, the medicine is taken to treat patients with breast cancer who have passed radiation therapy. The drug is also used to prevent breast cancer. And if you already suffer from this disease, Nolvadex will impede the growth of the tumor.

For Ductal carcinoma in situ, the dosage is 20 mg a day (for five years). Daily dosage for the treatment of breast cancer is 20 mg a day (for one year). Overdose of Nolvadex can lead to shiver, vertigo, difficulty breathing and cramps.
