  • Actively participate within a Muslim community and demonstrate a profound understanding of issues impacting British Muslim communities.
  • Exhibit a sustained commitment to the long-term development of communities and society within Britain.
  • Clearly outline how the chosen course will enhance their effectiveness in one of the following areas related to British Muslims:
  • Effective Advocacy and Enhanced Public Perception – promoting improved representation and contribution of Muslims to civil society to counter Islamophobia and positively reshape perceptions of British Muslims.
  • Community Service and Social Development – elevating aspirations and standards within British Muslim communities.

Additionally, the Aziz Foundation Scholarship will exclusively be granted to British Muslims who possess relevant experience and are dedicated to advancing in the following areas:

  • Policy – Individuals with a passion for influencing public policy (excluding Health Policy) in the UK, ensuring it is equitable and responsive to the needs of British Muslim communities.
  • Arts & Culture – Creative individuals capable of influencing public discourses, especially around Muslims and Islam, through various mediums.
  • Sports – Enthusiastic candidates dedicated to sporting excellence and capable of making significant contributions to the industry through administration and management.
  • Media & Journalism – Applicants aspiring to advocate for diversity in the media, ensuring fairer and more accurate reporting.
  • Technology – Disruptors and innovators utilizing technology to provide novel and transformative solutions to society’s most pressing challenges.
  • Sustainability/Environment – Candidates aiming to lead the forefront in the fight to preserve our planet and secure a safer future for generations to come.

The Aziz Foundation Scholarship application process is conducted online. The application form comprises inquiries regarding prior education, professional experience, financial status, a statement not exceeding 1,000 words detailing how you meet the Foundation’s criteria, and the names of two referees. If your application is selected for further consideration, you will receive an invitation to attend an interview.
