Leader Qualifications: To be eligible for this challenging yet gratifying position, candidates must demonstrate a proven dedication to youth development, possess relevant educational experience (preferably with high school students), and showcase a commitment to conflict transformation and leadership education. Essential qualifications include robust facilitation and public speaking skills, cross-cultural experience, and humility. Moreover, aspiring leaders must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid U.S. driver’s license, and successfully pass a criminal background check.

 

 

Responsibilities of Leaders: Leaders at World Learning juggle various responsibilities, ranging from conducting workshops on arts and leadership to fostering positive relationships among participants. Their roles extend to monitoring participant health and well-being and handling administrative tasks such as maintaining petty cash accounting and coordinating logistics. Leaders play a pivotal role in cultivating a positive and harmonious living environment for program participants.

Application Process: The application window spans from November to January, with an early bird deadline in December. Successful candidates undergo a thorough selection process, which includes interviews and training. Compensation for leaders encompasses a daily stipend, full room and board, and coverage of program-related travel expenses.
